Micro Needling for Acne

A method that is well suited for the treatment of acne scarring.

The most advanced Skin Rejuvenation treatment combining a Chemical Peel and a tailored blend of micro needling serums to treat specific skin conditions, Collagen Masque and LED light Therapy resulting in a dramatic improvement in the overall skin condition and a boost to natural skin production.

A course of 3 treatments is required for results to last up to 12 months.

Please note that Acne Scarring conditions will need more than 3 treatments, perhaps 6-9, depending on the severity of your condition. Sarah will be happy to advise during your consultation.

Overview of Microneedling

A professional microneedling treatment is intended to cause a degree of trauma to the skin. This trauma stimulates new collagen cells in abundance.

The ageing process, low body weight, regular intense exercise, smoking, drinking, diet and the environment all impact the production of collagen and elastin.

By creating 1000s of minor wounds the skin begins to heal itself, as would any wound, in 3 stages:

  • Inflammation (erythema, oedema and the release of growth factors)
  • Proliferation (fibroblast stimulation, creating new collagen cells)
  • Tissue remodelling (collagen continues to build and contraction takes place)

Having created 1000s of these micro channels we can optimise this treatment by flooding the skin with active ingredients, which will work at a cellular level and be at their most efficacious. By adding these serums greater results can be achieved.

Whilst this treatment is certainly not pain free, it does offer a more economical solution to some other ablative therapies. It has limited contra-indications, very limited downtime and, when delivered safely, no side effects.

It is an ideal treatment for:

  • Pitted acne scarring
  • Ice pick scarring
  • Pigmentation
  • Stretch marks
  • Anti-ageing, lines, wrinkles and lax skin
  • Hair Restoration
